About Hope’s Forge

Not only responding to trafficking. Preventing it.

Hope’s Forge exists to combat human trafficking and exploitation by strengthening those who fight it, protecting those at risk, helping survivors rebuild their lives, and addressing the conditions and behaviors that perpetuate exploitation.

Our mission in four words

Strengthen. Protect. Restore. Address.

Our mission names four jobs. Every program we run or fund serves at least one of them.

Strengthen

Those who fight trafficking, with resources, technology, expertise and support.

Protect

Individuals and families at risk, before exploitation begins.

Restore

Survivors, through safety, stability and long-term recovery.

Address

The conditions and behaviors that allow exploitation to continue.

Our vision

Protected before exploitation begins

A world where vulnerable people are protected before exploitation begins, human trafficking is relentlessly confronted, and every survivor has the opportunity to rebuild a safe, stable, and hopeful life.

We picture a coordinated fight that reaches beyond rescue alone: organizations with the capabilities they need, trafficking networks identified and disrupted, survivors supported to rebuild, and effective intervention that reduces the behaviors and circumstances that let exploitation continue.

Accountability

Stewardship you can check

  • Board governance. A board of three to nine directors meets at least quarterly.
  • Conflict of interest policy. Directors and officers disclose conflicts annually and recuse themselves from related votes.
  • Compensation review. No one votes on their own pay. Disinterested directors set it using comparable data.
  • Separate accounts. Charitable funds are held only in the organization’s name, never mixed with personal funds.
  • Annual reporting. Our fiscal year runs January to December. Financial summaries and Form 990s will be posted here as they are filed.
